We invite you to a series for the ACE and Catholic school community to notice the ways God cultivates growth in our hearts, our classrooms, and our communities as we prepare for Christ’s coming.
Week 2 Scripture:
On that day, a shoot shall sprout from the stump of Jesse,
and from his roots a bud shall blossom.
The spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him:
a spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
a spirit of counsel and of strength,
a spirit of knowledge and of fear of the LORD....
He shall judge the poor with justice,
and decide aright for the land's afflicted....
Then the wolf shall be a guest of the lamb,
and the leopard shall lie down with the kid;
the calf and the young lion shall browse together,
with a little child to guide them....
There shall be no harm or ruin on all my holy mountain. (adapted from Isaiah 11: 1-10)
Week 2 Prayer:
Lord, as we continue our Advent journey towards your holy mountain, we yearn evermore to climb and reach you. For your mountain is one of true community -- where justice and freedom from fear prevail, where all live together in peace, harmony, and right relationship. As we climb your mountain in these Advent days, may the journey continue its liberating power of freeing us from all that obstructs our minds and hearts from the source of true community -- being in communion with You, our common origin and common destiny. We ask this through "the little child you send to guide us," Jesus Christ, Our Lord.
