Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School, located at 3752 Broadway in Grove City, Ohio, is seeking a dedicated, faith-filled leader for the position of Principal beginning in the summer of 2026.
The principal serves as the educational leader of the school, entrusted with safeguarding and advancing a Catholic liberal education ordered toward truth, goodness, and beauty, and faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church. He/she is responsible for the overall leadership of the school, ensuring that all aspects of academic life, faculty formation, governance, and school culture are ordered to the mission of Catholic education, reflecting the vision of the Bishop and the Pastor. The principal leads through intellectual vision, moral witness, and prudent stewardship, fostering a community of learning rooted in wonder and wisdom.
The primary responsibilities of this position are:
Mission and Catholic Identity
• Serve as the chief guardian of the school’s Catholic identity, ensuring fidelity to the Magisterium of the Church.
• Promote an integrated vision of faith and reason consistent with the Catholic intellectual tradition.
• Collaborate closely with the Pastor, director of religious education, and diocesan leadership in sacramental and spiritual life.
Academic Leadership & Liberal Education
• Provide intellectual leadership for the school’s curriculum.
• Ensure that instruction fosters wonder, contemplation, and a love of truth, along with a mastery of foundational skills ordered toward wisdom and integration across disciplines
• Uphold Catholic instructional pedagogy, including discussion, narration, memorization, and Socratic inquiry.
Faculty Formation and Supervision
• Hire, mentor, and evaluate faculty according to their commitment to Catholic education.
• Provide ongoing formation in ICLE (Institute of Catholic Liberal Education) principles, pedagogy, and Catholic intellectual tradition.
• Foster a faculty culture of docility, collaboration, and shared pursuit of wisdom
School Culture & Student Formation
• Cultivate an orderly, joyful, and reverent school culture.
• Ensure discipline serves formation in virtue and freedom.
• Partner with parents as the primary educators of their children.
Governance and Administration
• Provide prudent administrative oversight in service of the school’s mission.
• Collaborate with the pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, School Advisory Board, and the diocesan Office of Catholic Schools.
• Oversee budgeting, staffing, enrollment, and resource allocation in alignment with educational priorities.
Community and Advancement
• Serve as the public face of the school’s mission to families, parishes, and the broader community.
• Communicate clearly the nature and value of Catholic liberal education to prospective families.
• Foster strong relationships with parents, alumni, benefactors, and clergy.
The successful applicant will be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church who has a demonstrated commitment to Catholic liberal education as well as experience in educational or faculty leadership. He/she should have experience in Catholic liberal education as well as training from ICLE, or the willingness to engage in this formation. The successful applicant will also understand leadership as custodianship of a tradition—one that forms students to know reality rightly, love God above all things, and live virtuously in the world.
He/she should possess a Master’s degree and administrator’s license or be eligible to obtain one. A current FBI/BCI background check, attendance at the VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children seminar and a completed online principal application for the Diocese of Columbus must be submitted as part of the application process. Salary is commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience.
