HPL Webinar: Insights from HPL's AI Policy Collaborative

Location: Livestream

Higher-Powered Learning

This summer, Catholic school and (arch)diocesan leaders came together through an HPL AI Policy Collaborative to discuss the real questions schools are facing around AI use, policy development, implementation, and communication. Across multiple collaborative conversations, participants shared draft policies, surfaced tensions, explored emerging challenges, and reflected on how Catholic schools can approach AI responsibly and thoughtfully.

In this session, Lewis will share key themes, practical insights, recurring concerns, and notable discussion points that emerged from those conversations. Topics include student expectations, academic integrity, teacher use of AI, transparency, professional judgment, parent communication, professional development, implementation challenges, and ethical considerations related to AI in Catholic education.

Rather than presenting a single “model policy,” this webinar will offer a broader look at how Catholic schools and dioceses are currently thinking through AI guidance and decision-making as they prepare for the coming school year.
